Its weird cos its still not working for me on FF, its just the home page, every other page works ok on the site, and i don't have any bother with any other sites . And yeah, the frame is a bit on the big side on IE, but if the site is working then I don't suppose we should complain after last weekends carry on, at least its not hacked!!

Hmmm, could be, I guess i'll give it a go.
OLFSL site and Firefox?

Is anyone else having bother with the main OLFSL site whilst using Firefox since the weekend, in particular since Sunday afternoon? I can open all the sub directories, but the main home page just keeps trying to download, but it never refreshes. I don't have this problem if I use IExplorer, but I don't really want to use it as I find Firefox a better browser now.

Just wondered if anybody else was having probs, I dunno

OLFSLTv is nice and everything but spectator gives much better overall picture about gaps between racers and laptimes they are getting. And if some crash or spin occurs in the race then you notice it almost instantly.

I agree, it would make more sense, and you would have a little bit more choice as to the pool that you want to watch, or flick between them, but with OLFSLtv your are stuck with just the one pool, and unfortunately if its in the pool that Johnathan is in then you are stuck in car with him (I know it can't be helped Johnathan ), and you aren't really seeing any of the other cars in that pool.

As I say, it would be good to have the choice.

Quote from KSheppard :
Facts are meaningless. You could use facts to prove anything that's even remotely true! H.J. Simpson

Ha Ha, a quote from one Homer Jay Simpson, you REALLY are doing your credibility no end of good lol .

But you are right, in the true scale of things the planetary climate has been an ongoing varied and changing anomaly. As has been written in manys an academical journal, in fact it has even been noted that the present gulf stream has been going for what is thought to be a record breaking amount of time, IIRC it usually runs for about 5,000 years or so, but at present it has run consistenly for about 15,000 years, which has helped to keep norhtern and western Europe in its temperate climate for so long. But as I said, I think that it doesn't usually flow this long, which might mean that we would reach ice age type conditions in winter, but it is unknown what usually causes the flow to stop, it could be that as KSheppard says, too much fresh water has got into the sea water and thus the convayor belt is shut down!!

LFS is environmentally friendly compared to real motorsports anyway, its not as if we're burning tonnes and tonnes of carbon dioxide when we're racing, okay we're using electricity, but its not half as damaging to the environment as driving a car around a track at high speeds!! Besides, my computer would be on anyways, so I might as well use it for a good purpose
Worn tyres in pool 10

I thought I would watch the replay of pool 10 just to see why my tyres went off so much, because i hadn't experienced it during similar long distance runs whilst practicing for yesterdays race. It wasn't till i saw that I had damaged suspension for most of my stint in 2nd place that I realised why, but the weird thing about it all is that I set some of my best sector/lap times during this stint and the car didn't feel a fraction as bad as the replay suggests.

I dunno how Sir Death and Sheepy couldn't pass me when my car was in that state, lol, but i did succome eventually!!

I really enjoyed the race tho, good clean racing, the way it should be, bumper to bumper.

Can't wait until 2 weeks time now

I'll tell my pal to give it a go with spectator. BTW I wasn't being critical of the system, I understand that it is just yourself Johnathan, that is seeding the feed, just one of those things you can't get around. It's always good to fantasise about how thihngs could be!!

But as new technologies emerge then other things become possible, I guess its just a waiting game until prices for things start coming down and it becomes viable to do more, and bring it to the masses, and then with more viewers comes the possiblity of more serious sponsorship!

Here's hoping!!

Yeah, its a bit of a pity that only one person is hosting the OLFSLTV feeds, which means only one server/pool per viewing. In an ideal world u could have had a director who was watching every pool at each race time and switching between pools/servers to catch the best of the action, with an action replay thrown into the bargain. But I would imagine that that is damn near impossible, unless you throw tons of money at it and employ lots of people, unless there is a rich benefactor willing to finance/sponsor the OLFSL
LFS Spectator?

Is there a way to follow the races with LFS spectator, as a friend of mine was wanting to follow me in the race today. He tried for the last round but couldn't find the server, as my pool wasn't "televised" . And me being in the bottom pool again today then it prob wont be shown again today :ashamed: lol

The main problem with more smoke will be lower frame rates, which will cause people with lower end computers to have a reduced graphical performance. Imagine Turn 1, you get a few folk locking up and then you get 4 or 5 cars worth of smoke, the frame rate is going to drop right down, which will probably cause more accidents. I think its at the right balance at the moment IMHO

...I can understand not listing last years winner for the personality award but come on there are two other devs and other people in the sim community other than rfactor/$imbin people.

Yup, it does seem to be VERY VERY biased towards R-Factor, and having shelled out for it last year, i have to admit i wonder why, as i had a S1 license years ago, and never really worked with it, but after trying r-factor i wish i had rally put the effort in with S1!!

Ha ha, what a slap in the face it would be for Autosimsport if it was LFS which won best simulation, and other scooped up all the other prizes, DAMN GOOD.

MAKE IT HAPPEN!!!!!!!!

Heh heh, i can't help thinking that other is gonna be a resounding success. And LFS is already miles ahead in the best sim awards, untouchable really, which is where it should rightly be!

But the most anticipated mod is hardly applicable to LFS, cos unless your are in the LFS community and look at the forums, you will have absolutely no idea that there is an update on the way (like the eagerly expected S2 V patch!). And we can't really say anything about the best mod because there haven't been too many mods this year, just fine tweeking of the original ones.

But being biased towards the GREATEST driving sim of all time (which is only gonna get better!!!), I was horrified to see the lack of LFS in each category, almost like a conspirasy, fed up with LFS winning everything, and rightly so, for years before.

But other is the only option we LFSers have and it is going down a storm, so I urge everybody to keep voting other where there is no LFS, and we will win a moral victory, YEEEEAAAHHHH

I actually think this is a pointless thread, mainly because you are not going to get however many thousnad drivers that are licensed to agree on a name for any given corner. It would be a great idea, but I don't see how it can work, just too many opinions, and, sorry, poor names for corners. It might be an issue for the devs to think about for future implementation. Possibly even setting up a poll here in the forum for us drivers inputs.

I dunno, just my thoughts on it
